God's Garden of Grace

A Ministry to Feed the Hungry in the Slate Belt

God's Garden of Grace is 9,000 square feet. It is planned and designed to use the time, talents, and treasures of St. Peter's and the Slate Belt Community to help people in our area who are in need.

Our first year yielded 8,300 pounds of fresh, healthy produce that was distributed to food pantries in the Slate Belt: Hope UCC, Bender's Mennonite Church, the Salvation Army, Mission of Love, and Trinity Lutheran Church.

2012 was an exciting beginning for us. We hope to make 2013 even better. We want to provide a witness of love for our congregation, youth, and community, and lift up the importance of horticulture in our lives.

Here's how you can help:

  • Be a gardeer - plant, weed, harvest, and package
  • Be a distribution helper - deliver the harvest to the food pantries
  • Be a financial supporter - purchase seeds, plants, supplies

Thanks for your support in this special ministry as we serve the hungry in our area. Click here for a donation form or to indicate how you would like to help.

Social Ministries

Social Ministries asks that when you do your spring cleaning, remember that they are collecting used sheets, pillowcases, blankets, towels, cloth tablecloths, sleeping bags, quilts, unlined draperies and men's neckties. These items will be passed on to either our local animal shelters or My Brother's Keepers. Your help will be appreciated.
